The MP7 is a light-weight 11-liter engine that is capable of achieving a peak horse power of 425 to and torque from 1050 to 1200 lb.-ft. The MP7 had undergone some developments in its time, in 2010 - SCR (Selective Catalytic Regeneration) was introduced for both the MP7 and MP8. This technology provided major advantages regarding fuel economy and performance while topping the 2010 emissions standards.
All engines within the MP Series house intake throttles that improve heat management. They aid to increase the exhaust gas temperature at idle and low load, thereby increasing the efficiency of the exhaust aftertreatment. MACK MP7 ENGINE REPLACEMENT OPTIONS
At times the reality is your engine is just too far gone, therefore beyond saving. There are many defects that can impair your engine, but not all mean your engine is a goner. At times, your MP7 may just need a number of new parts, or perhaps it just needs a brief refreshment to keep it in working order. We do appreciate that matters such as time, money, availability, etc will all impact your decision-making – to that end, we have provided some insight by presenting both pros and cons of a new engine from a dealer.
For those of you reading this that are unfortunate enough to have seen your engine suffers a fatal malfunction, a remanufactured MP7 long block would be the ideal answer. Additionally, if you have some re-usable external components that are still in good order, then these can be salvaged from your previous MP7 engine. Most importantly, this would be a good alternative if you're trying to save some cash.
We are constantly striving to maintain a professional level of service, whatever the mission. In the field of remanufacturing, we can guarantee this level of quality is sustained by first performing a full core tear down, cleaning, inspection, and machining of your MP7. This is carried out on every engine before it leaves our facility.
It is important to note, that all of our MP7 remanufactured long blocks are built with both reman and new parts. Hence, we do not just recondition or refurbish old parts, instead, we fully rebuild the old MP7 engine back to its initial OEM specs.
Vigilant cleaning is essential during our process; thus, we make a special effort to alleviate your engine of any contaminations that could promote, catalyze or cause both component failure or entire engine failure. This is done by stripping the MP7, then putting the blocks, heads, rods, crankshafts, and camshafts through a chemical jet wash or hot tank.
Before our quality control branch inspects the completed product, the crankshafts are precision machined to the precise tolerances, polished and magnafluxed.
Heads are resurfaced to assure a proper sealing surface with the block and a finish consistent with today's new gasket materials. Valve height is mic-d and every head is vacuum tested to assure correct valve seating.
The block is examined for any cracks or other damage by using magnetic particles to ensure even the smallest of defects is identified. The cylinders and then bored honed and again inspected to the specific tolerances. Torque plate honing is performed on particular engines to eradicate the chances of cylinder head distortion after the head is bolted and torqued to the block. This process eliminates the key source of engine blow-by. Block surfaces are then machined and checked to ensure a proper finish.
Camshafts are inspected and precisely machined to provide the correct lift. Lobs are measured with a micrometer to make sure OEM tolerances are met.
In order to achieve an even distribution of stress on all the bearings, the connecting rods are cleansed, then machined to OEM specs, then honed to the usual diameter of the original equipment. New bushings are also fitted and machined in all bushed rods, every rod is also examined for any bend and/or twist.
Great performance and dependability are what we strive for, therefore, all MP7 engines will obtain a set of new parts such as pistons and rings, bearings, gaskets and sealers, and liners. These parts are consist of both OEM and Aftermarket when available.

REMANUFACTURED ENGINES STANDARDS
To best explain remanufacture, would be to say we produce something that is as close to new as possible. In aid of this, all the wearable parts are routinely replaced. All MP7 core materials are then meticulously inspected and examined against original equipment specifications for the correct dimensional tolerances. Replacement parts are either new or requalified. If new, parts are made in the same production processes as original equipment. Testing is performed to manufacturer specifications and original production standards.
